About this journey

The exhibition proposes a dialogue between maps, manuscripts, letters, engravings, newspapers, books, photographs, and postcards. It consists of various representations of the Americas through a collection of pieces produced from the 16th to the 20th century.

The exhibition is arranged chronologically, organized into four historical periods: the European discovery of the American territory, the colonial period, the revolution and independence, and national organization.

The collection is the result of a donation made by the Juri family to the UNC Historical Museum in 2010. It includes more than 300 pieces, which continue to be the subject of research by various specialists. Additionally, public access to this collection is available digitally.
